Be sure to go to Western Digital website and get the Firmware update and Drive Manager. After installing those this drive should be stable. Like other reviewers I was having hangs especially with iTunes. Also it seems that some widgets may have been creating conflicts. But that doesn't happen after the updates.

This product is beautiful! It matches the aluminum of the iMac and MacBooks. It's fast: with FW800 it achieves real transfer rates greater than 56 MB/s. (eSATA rates would be higher, probably 110 MB/s.)
