The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain, a classic, is slow to get started, the characters are hard to personally identify. It seemed more the script for a cartoon than something that could have actually happened. As the story progressed, however, I found myself genuinely laughing; at the end, I was glad I had listened.
