Even the old recordings of Tolkien were very clear, and a really cool thing to listen to for anyone who's a hardcore fan of his work. It was certainly an enlightening experience hearing many of the words in his books spoken the way they were meant to be spoken, as well as learning the rhythms of some of his poems (which I always found slightly difficult with some of them).
