Diamond HD3850 512MB Pcie Oem

Just bought this a few weeks ago and have been trying everyday since then, to get it stable on my XP Pro 3.0GHz P4HT system. Also got a new PS to go with it. It's been nothing but a headache. Installed the drivers twice and adjusted the clock settings up and down and to preset levels. It just won't play any decent game for more than a few minutes before restarting itself. Even tried an old LOTRBFME game, and it stalled after about 30-45 min. It's frustrating to say the least. I did read somewhere that it plays better with Vista and a high end processor, but then, what doesn't right?
